Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn (born August 19, 1965), is an American actress from the United States. She is best known for her starring role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick won an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. After the end of the seventh season the show was cancelled on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her role as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) The Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was Speech and Family Therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was an Episcopalian. Sedgwick was of English origins. Sedgwick is a self-described Jewish, and she has stated that she is a participant at Passover seders.
