Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United America. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the company. Corcoran has participated in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals with the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child in a family of 10 kids, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran’s life. The family relied on free food deliveries from the local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father being an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with contempt and disrespect, particularly after the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran struggled at school, and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran went to an area Catholic elementary school, and then began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran was a failure in numerous classes in her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
